Tom Spender

Editor

Tom is an experienced journalist with a degree in French and German from the UK's University of Bristol.

Since graduating in 1999, he has worked full-time on newspapers, magazines and news agencies in the UK and various countries in the Middle East. Tom has extensive editing experience from stints managing teams of reporters in the Middle East and his fluency in French and German has allowed him to carry out a wide range of freelance translation work for a variety of clients.



Bridget Rooth

Editor

CEO of English Trackers, Bridget is still considerably involved in the quality control side of the editing process. She also oversees editor recruitment and training.

Bridget has a joint degree in International Management and Asian Studies from the Université of La Rochelle France. She has built her career in the language industry and brings a wealth of expertise gained working as a conference interpreter, translator and editor.



DS

Editor

DS holds a PhD in English and has worked as a writing teacher for over fifteen years. During this time, he has specialized in technical, business, and creative writing, paying close attention to the kinds of details that readers and business clients alike are most impressed by.



Kathy Kirkland

Editor

In her 30-year career of writing and editing, Kathy has been editor for many national consumer magazines, covering everything from health to home decorating to teenage fan magazines. The fan magazines introduced her to the entertainment industry where she worked for actor/activist Edward Asner for 15 years.

She eventually returned to publishing as Executive Editor of a national beauty industry magazine and its European counterpart. She now works as an editor, using her writing skills to polish up articles, theses and doctoral dissertations.



Paul Murphy

Editor

Paul Murphy has a degree in Classics from Oxford University. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). He also studied Law at the University of Westminster and the Inns of Court School of Law in London, qualifying as a barrister.

Since 2002, Paul has worked mostly as a university lecturer and business training consultant. He has also worked part-time as a writer/editor for a number of PR firms and business information services, and is a regular editor for two leading academic journals.



ML

Editor

ML is an editor and education consultant from the United States with extensive work experience in Asia and Europe. Her first-hand knowledge and experience of cultures and multi-culture issues has given ML unique skills in cross-culture communication in the professional world, and her work encompasses academia from early childhood up to graduate studies at university.

As a skilled grant and application consultant, her clients have been awarded Ford Foundation grants, Fulbrights, Rice-Wallace Fellowship, and entrance into prestigious universities throughout the world. ML is also a published author of children’s books, as well as a playwright for children.



JK

Editor

JK has BA and MA degrees in Oriental Studies from Cambridge University. She has been studying and working in the Asia region for almost twenty years between a variety of sectors including television documentary production, non-governmental health projects and publishing.

JK worked as Chief Editor of the first-ever large-scale Oxford University Press Chinese Dictionary, which launched worldwide in 2010. Aside from OUP, she has also worked as a dictionary editor for two other major international dictionary publishers.

Our editors are all native English speakers. They are recruited for their specialist background or their experience in journalism or editing. Editors receive training to ensure that they edit to English Trackers high standards and they are continually supported by our Senior Editors.

Senior Editors

  • English Trackers has a team of Senior Editors that works closely with the editors and proofreaders. They are involved in recruitment, selection, training and quality supervision.
  • Every completed piece of work that is returned by an editor is monitored by one of the Senior Editors in order to ensure that English Trackers sends out only the highest quality work to its clients.
  • All editors have contractual obligations with English Trackers that include confidentiality and punctuality clauses.
