How to write a personal statement
You want me to state something about myself? That's a big ask for a lot of people. We'd much rather write about our work or our company than write a personal statement. But that's the point, universities or schools want to find out something personal about you. Something they can't find in your transcripts.
Writing a compelling personal statement means opening up and showing your personal side to the admissions board. It means writing about your life experience, your extra-curricular activities and what matters to you outside of study and work.
Apart from writing about yourself, what else should go in your personal statement? To give you an idea, we've prepared some Personal Statement Tips that can be downloaded on the right hand side. As well as general personal statement writing guidelines, we also cover how to make your writing look good, replying to common application essay questions and the importance of thoroughly researching your university and the courses it offers.
